Brief description
Tamerlan Eskerkhanov was convicted of the 2015 murder of Russian opposition politician Boris Nemtsov. He signed a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defence to fight in Ukraine in February 2024, and was pardoned by President Putin the following month. Novaya Gazeta reported that he was employed by a unit subordinate to Vakha Geremeyev and was not near the Ukrainian frontline.
