Brief description
Valeriy Chekalov was head of rear operations at Wagner, and was therefore responsible for transport, ammunition supplies and other essential support to Wagner operations in Syria, Libya, the Central African Republic, and Sudan. He was killed in the same plane crash as Yevgeniy Prigozhin and Dmitriy Utkin in August 2023.
