Brief description

The Free Caucasus Social and Political Movement is a dissident organisation established by representatives of the Chechen, Georgian, and Azerbaijani diaspora in Herlev, Denmark in February 2009.

One of the stated aims of the conference at which the group was founded was to unite Caucasian groups against Russian imperialism (Chechenews.com, 2021).

The group initiated the Dzhokhar Dudayev International Peacekeeping Battalion and the Sheikh Mansur Battalion to fight on the side of Ukraine against Russia in 2014. It has continued to support both units since them and has declared its willingness to cooperate with any groups that share its goal of liberating the Caucasus (Chechenews.com, 2022).

Leadership

The highest decision-making body of the organisation is its Supreme Council, comprised of 11 people (Chechenews.com, 2022).
