Russian Deputy Prime Minister (May 2024-date)
Russian Agriculture Minister (May 2018-May 2024)
Brief description
Dmitriy Patrushev is Russian Deputy Prime Minister and the son of influential security service figure Nikolay Patrushev.
An investigation by Sistema, a joint project of RFE/RL and Nastoyashcheye Vremya, claimed that the sale of Danone Rossiya was facilitated by then-Russian Agriculture Minister Patrushev, whose ministry needed to confirm the deal. Patrushev reportedly acquiesced in Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov’s takeover of the company – realised through his nephew, Yakub Zakriyev. Patrushev’s deputy, Vladimir Skvortsov, became a member of the board of directors (Kavkaz Realii, 2025; see also Financial Times, 2023 for Patrushev’s interest in the assets).
