Brief description
Rustam Azhiyev has been the deputy commander of the Armed Forces of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria since redeploying to Ukraine from Syria in October 2022. Prior to that, he commanded the Adzhnad al-Kavkaz group. He originally fought in Chechnya, but reportedly left to receive treatment in 2009 and was unable to return.
