Brief description
Fancy Bear is the name of the cyber unit operated by the 85th Field Post, which in turn is part of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (GU/GRU). In December 2023, the United Kingdom identified it as one of the units involved in cyber espionage operations against the country (Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office, 2023).
