Brief description
The 85th Field Post is a unit of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces (GU/GRU).
In December 2023, the United Kingdom identified it as one of the units involved in cyber espionage operations against the country (Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office, 2023). The United States identified the group as responsible for hacking the Democratic Congressional Campaign, the Democratic National Committee, and the presidential campaign of Hilary Clinton (Congressional Research Service, 2022).
