Brief description
Bekkhan Yunusov (Aid) is a former Moscow policeman who was convicted of abuse of office after he was identified as the “Khiminsky batman”, who dressed up in a cape and attacked drug dealers and users in 2016. He was commended for his role on the Kremensk front in Luhansk Oblast in 2023. BBC Russian Service identified him as an Akhmat unit commander using the nom-de-guerre Aid in October 2024 (BBC Russian Service, 2024). He initially concealed his identity but was unmasked when he was awarded the Hero of Chechnya medal in March 2025 (Mediazona, 2025).
