Mikhail Mizintsev headed the National Defence Control Centre, a command structure within the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, between December 2014 and September 2022. He then became Russian deputy minister of defence in charge of logistics from September 2022, a role he occupied for less than a year before becoming a deputy commander in the Wagner Group (New America, 2025).
