Brief description
Igor Krasnov is a candidate to become chief justice of the Russian Supreme Court. He submitted his application in August 2025, a month after the death from cancer of Chief Justice Irina Podnosova (The Moscow Times, 2025).
Krasnov served as Russia’s General Prosecutor from January 2020, and before that as deputy to Investigative Committee Head Aleksandr Bastrykin
