Brief description
Wagner Legion Istra is one of the units that the Russian state established to replace Wagner after the death of Yevgeniy Prigozhin. It comprises former Wagner fighters and is led by famous Wagner fighter 
Aleksandr Kuznetsov (Ratibor) (Ratibor). The first observed use of its name came in December 2023, but it wasn’t until Kuznetsov and other commanders gave a major interview in December 2024 that the group properly entered the public domain. The group is based in Istra, Moscow Oblast and its members are contracted to the Russian Ministry of Defence
