Brief description
GTRK Vaynakh is the regional branch of federal state media conglomerate the All-Russia State Television and Radio Company, (VGTRK). It traces its history to the launch of a republican radio station in April 1928, before becoming the Chechen-Ingushetian State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting in 1960.
The channel is a platform for the regime of Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov, but occasionally covers the intersection of federal and local interests. It broadcasts on VGTRK’s Rossiya 1 frequency, as well as online.
