Economic Security Service (Fourth Service)

The Economic Security Service is a branch of the Federal Security Service (FSB). It supervises critical industries and companies, as well as the Interior Ministry, the Emergency Situations Ministry, and the Justice Ministry. It is divided into seven core units: the Directorate of Counterintelligence Support to Industrial Enterprises (Directorate P); the Directorate of Counterintelligence Support to Transportation (Directorate T); the Directorate of Counterintelligence Support to the Financial System (Directorate K); the Directorate of Counterintelligence Support to the Interior Ministry, Ministry of Emergency, and Ministry of Justice (Directorate M); the Organisational Analysis Directorate; the Directorate to Combat Contraband and Illegal Drug Trafficking (Directorate N); and the Administrative Service (Soldatov and Borogan, 2010).
