The Joint Detachment, sometimes referred to as the Akhmat Joint Detachment, is not a defined security service unit with a defined place in the organisational infrastructure. Rather, it is a designation for ad hoc groupings comprised of security service personnel seconded from other units — most often from the Chechen Interior Ministry.
